Laura McGann is a journalist-turned-filmmaker whose work centres on powerful female narratives rooted in universal truth. Her BAFTA-nominated documentary The Deepest Breath follows the intertwined destinies of an Italian world-record freediver and her safety partner, delivering a visually breathtaking and emotionally devastating story of risk and devotion. In Revolutions, she captured the determination of women in Ireland’s roller derby scene in the aftermath of the 2008 recession. Her next feature, recently completed, will be announced soon.
