Shane Meadows

Shane Meadows is an acclaimed British writer and director known for his raw, character-driven storytelling across film, television, and commercials. Emerging from the UK’s independent film scene, he gained recognition with films such as TwentyFourSeven and A Room for Romeo Brass, before achieving widespread acclaim with This Is England and its subsequent television series. Meadows’ work is defined by its naturalistic style and exploration of British identity, often drawing from his own Midlands upbringing, with frequent collaborations including Stephen Graham. Alongside his narrative work, he has directed commercials and branded content, including campaigns such as Eurostar – Somers Town, bringing his signature authenticity and cinematic approach to advertising. He is currently in post-production on his latest feature film Chork, a bold new project that promises to reignite the raw, uncompromising storytelling that has cemented him as a defining voice in British film which he co-wrote with Jack Thorne.
